We’re smack in the middle of deer mating season…and Pennsylvania Game Commission officers are reminding drivers they need to be vigilant and use extra caution while on the roads. Wildlife Conservation Officer Mike Yecht’s beat includes the northern half of Beaver County, including New Sewickley Township, Beaver Falls, New Brighton, Brighton Township, mainly the Ohio River north all the way to the Lawrence County line. He tells Beaver County Radio that sometimes it’s better to hit the deer than to swerve and hit a tree, endangering lives. To report a dead deer removal from state roads, motorists can call PennDOT at 1-800-FIX-ROAD.
