Sandra M. Black (1943-2026)

Sandra M. Black, 83, of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 8th, 2026.

She was born in New Brighton on September 6th, 1943, a daughter of the late George and Marie (Hagg) Sullivan.

Sandra had lived in Beaver County until moving to Medina County, Ohio in 2013. She was a former member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Beaver Falls and was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church Valley City, Ohio. She had a hair salon in her home for many years and operated Fine Things in Chippewa. She was a talented artist and enjoyed floral designing. She was noted for her beautiful flower garden and her manicured yard.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina (David) Flack and her son, David (Brenda) Black, her grandchildren: Cassandra, Justin (Annie), Aiden & Caylee Flack, Brittney (Brian) Hamilton, Zachary (Jessica) Black; as well as her great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Delaney and Hayleigh Hamilton, Madison Black and two more little ones on the way and her sister, Rose Circle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John Leroy Black, Jr. and two brothers, George Sullivan, Jr. and Joe Sullivan.

A visitation will occur from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16th in the Gathering Area of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, Ohio, with the Funeral Mass immediately following in St. Martin’s Chapel.

Sandra’s burial will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 18th in the Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, 1501 1st Avenue, New Brighton, Pennsylvania.

The Bauer Funeral Home of Valley City, Ohio has the honor of serving the Black family and was the funeral home that was in charge of his arrangements.
