Sarah Grace Streho, 87, most recently of Koppel, passed away on September 6th, 2026, at her residence.
She was a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Sereta Tunno.
Sarah was raised in Beaver Falls and was a proud 1956 graduate of Beaver Falls High School, where she served as a Tigers cheerleader. At the age of 18, she married her first husband, John Elia. Their marriage lasted 36 years until John’s passing in 1991. Together they built a family and a life centered on love, responsibility, and perseverance. She was later preceded in death by her second husband, Michael Streho. She faced each chapter of her life with grace and resilience, and she remained deeply devoted to the memory of those she loved and lost.
Sarah was one of ten children and she was preceded in death by five siblings: Richard, Robert, Gene, Joseph, and Yvonne. She is survived by her children, Debbie J. Weese, Richard S. Elia, and Rocco A. (Cathy) Elia II, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her great pride and joy, her siblings: Jimmy, Cheryl, Sereta, and Louise; as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love and affection.
Sarah spent a number of years working as a data entry operator for the Fairfax County, Virginia Government. She lived in Virginia for many years before moving to West Virginia. After their home was destroyed in a fire, she later made her home in Koppel, where she lived until her passing. Through life’s changes and challenges, she remained strong and adaptable, always moving forward with determination.
Outside of work and family, she enjoyed many pastimes that brought her happiness. She was an avid bowler and bowled twice a week, a routine she enjoyed for many years. She also liked watching police television shows and game shows, finding comfort and entertainment in them. She was a devoted Steelers fan who proudly wore Steeler attire while watching the games, and she also enjoyed following the Pirates. She liked playing Yahtzee and trying her luck at the casinos, always enjoying the excitement and social enjoyment those activities brought. More than anything, she was steadfast in her support of her children and the activities they were involved in, and she took great pride in their accomplishments.
Sarah will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, September 12th from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 4 p.m. at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, who was in charge of her arrangements.
