Doris Gail Merz, 73, of Rochester, passed away on August 19th, 2026 in UPMC Passavant Hospital McCandless.

She was born in Sewickley on September 28th, 1952, the daughter of Cora Mae Kelly and the late Charles Kelly.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brian Wright, and a niece, Michelle Kelly.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Heather Grasso, two brothers, Chuck (Linda) Kelly and Thomas Kelly, a nephew, Shawn Kelly and a great nephew, Gabriel Kelly.

Doris retired after working for many years at Cranberry Place and then later at James Motel. Her life revolved around helping her family, but in her free time she did enjoy crafting.

In accordance with her wishes, all services are private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the branch of Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Interment will take place at a later date in Rehoboth Cemetery next to her son.
