Anthony L. “Tony” Korbar, 82, of Chippewa Township, passed away on March 6th, 2026, at Heritage Valley Health System – Beaver Campus.
He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on May 22nd, 1943, a son of the late Anthony F. and Julia (Butryn) Korbar.
Anthony graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School in Dunkirk, New York, in 1961, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from Youngstown State University. He had a long career at Babcock and Wilcox Co. (B&W) where his many colleagues became close friends. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in the Vietnam War and fought in the Tet Offensive. He was a member of St. Monica Church of St. Augustine Parish, VFW, Vietnam Veterans of America, as well as the Slovenian Club of Gowanda, New York. He cherished the precious moments he spent with his family; he also loved Corvettes, kayaking, listening to Elvis Presley, and traveling the world. His favorite place to be would be sitting in the sun, on any beach.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Suzanne (Kumpf) Korbar, his children: Allan (Patty) Stuhlmiller, David Stuhmiller, Anthony L. (Diana) Korbar II, and Rhonda (Bob) Stuhlmiller McAnlis; as well as his grandchildren: Jason (Crystal), Diana (Matt) Michael (Lindsey), Brittany (Lucas), Kellen, Halston (Jessica), Mikaela, Kendall and Zoe; great-grandchildren, Alisha (Daniel), Landen (Grace), Zechariah, Briana, Myles, Cora, Quinn, Page, Ryder, Amelia, Lyla and Max; as well as his great-great-grandchildren: Jesse, Benny, Graham, Wrenley; along with his brother, Peter (Tina) Korbar, his sisters and brothers-in-Law: Olive Anticola, Diane (Leonard) Layhew, Gerald (Ellen) Kumpf, Harold Kumpf; along with numerous precious nieces and nephews who more affectionately called him “Uncle Henry”; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Stuhlmiller and a great-great-granddaughter, Paisley S.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, March 13th from 3-7 P.M. at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES., INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, who was in charge of his arrangements. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, Saturday March 14th at 10 A.M. at St. Monica Church of St. Augustine Parish, 116 Thorndale Drive, Beaver Falls, PA, 15010. Fr. Kim Schreck will serve as celebrant. Interment, with military honors, will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 2927 Clayton Road, Beaver Falls.
Tony’s life was a precious gift to all who knew him. Rest in Peace, “Dude”.
