April L. Thomas-Ahmed, 50, of New Brighton, passed away on February 15th, 2026, at Heritage Valley Beaver.
She was born in Rochester on October 22nd, 1975, the daughter of Byrdell and Patricia (Reddinger) Thomas. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Jaleel Ahmed, her children: Alivia Thomas, Jamison, Mekhi, Joshua and Zaven Thomas-Ahmed; as well as her siblings, Marlin (Renee) Thomas, Jermaine (Natalie) Thomas, and Vanessa Petross, her father-in-law, Muhmammad Ahmed Ahmen, her brother-in-law, Jamal Ahmed, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Branden Thomas, her grandmother, Lanning, her pap, Reddinger, her paternal grandparents, Juanita and Byrdell Thomas, a mother-in-law, Karen Freeman and a brother-in-law, Arther Ahmed.
April graduated from Rochester High School, and later went on to graduate from Bidwell Training School in Pittsburgh. She was a devoted mother, daughter and sister. She was a devoted Christian, whose faith brought her solace and peace in every situation. She most recently attended Life Way Ministries in Beaver Falls. She was a stay-at-home mother who found joy in helping children around the community. She was well known around her community for her open-door policy, where kids were always welcomed and loved in her home. She loved her children fiercely and will be remembered and loved deeply.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 20th, from 1 P.M. until the time of services at 6 P.M. in the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES (BRANCH), 340 Third Street, Beaver, who was in charge of her arrangements.
