Wendy Sue May, 49, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on August 9th, 2025, at Rochester Manor & Villa.
She was born in Rochester on August 16th, 1975, a daughter of the late William Sr. and Sandra (Wolff) Icenhour. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrell Alan May and her grandmother, Kathryn Wolff. She is survived by her son, Luke May, her siblings, Katrina Icenhour, Kelly Rigby, and Jason Dobbins, her grandfather, William Wolff, Sr., her uncle, William Wolff, Jr., nieces and nephews: Eileen, with whom she shared a special bond, Pamela, Kristy, Joel, Adam, Haylie and Savannah; as well as many dear friends.
Wendy dedicated part of her career as a district director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association before becoming a devoted stay-at-home mother. She had a gift for making those around her feel loved and welcomed, whether through heartfelt conversation, her talent for baking, or her joy in decorating for the holidays: especially Christmas. Wendy also loved getting lost in a good book and cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews.
A small memorial will be held for close family only. Arrangements have been entrusted to the branch of Gabauer Funeral Homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society in Wendy’s honor.
