Evelyn Mary (Swick) LeFebvre, 89, a lifelong resident of North Sewickley Township, passed away on May 15th, 2025, with her daughter by her side.
She was born in North Sewickley Township on December 11th, 1935, a daughter of the late Orrin A. and Mary J. (Mantch) Swick Thompson. In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. LeFebvre, a brother, John Swick and a sister, Nancy Lee Swick.
She is survived by her grandson, Brian Emerick and his dog, Sam, her two children, Deborah (Don) Emerick and Orrin (Holly) LeFebvre, her grandchildren, Nicole LeFebvre and Natalie (Nate) August, her brother, Pastor Sam Swick, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
During her long life, Evelyn was a devoted member of Concord Church of Beaver Falls She always said she was carried in as an infant and wanted to be carried out. She was a faithful servant to the church who sang in the choir, was the Dean of Bible School who arranged and helped with weekly Youth Group, as well as serving as the President of the United Methodist Women, always willing to help when needed. She also loved helping with the Jumonville Church Camp.
Evelyn served as Justice of the Peace in North Sewickley for many years. She loved being a Girl Scout Leader and assisted with the Boy Scouts. She spent many years working on the Return and Recount Board for the Beaver County Board of Elections. One of her fondest memories was driving the school bus for Riverside School District where the kids affectionately called her Evy. She had a great relationship with the students.
She also worked as a local Registrar for the Bureau of Vital Statistics where she typed death certificates. She was meticulous about her job and was appreciated by the local funeral homes. In her free time, Evelyn enjoyed working in the garden with her husband, canning her vittles and entering them into the fair.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 21st, from 10 A.M. until the time of services at 2 P.M. at the Concord Church, 285 Concord Church Road, Beaver Falls.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Evelyn’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to friends: Kenneth Kemp, Bob and Sandy Sprinker, Vicki Homner, Emily and Gary Bischoff, Donna Diehl, Bridget Berry Kotuba, Mary Ann Swick, and Roxanne Young. A special thanks goes out to Pam George for her strength and guidance with her mother’s care, Teresa Stowe and Laurie Schlosser for their support and helpfulness, nurses: Jen, Jessica, Ashley, and Marla; along with Thomas Whipple for guiding her and Debbie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn’s name to Good Samaritan Hospice, 116 Browns Hill Road #100, Valencia, PA 16059.
The GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, has been honored to provide care and guidance to Evelyn’s family during this time. That funeral home was also entrusted to Evelyn’s arrangements.
