Ann (Vericella) Colella, 93, of North Beaver Township, formerly of New Castle and Rochester, passed away peacefully in her home on November 17th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Castle on July 4th, 1931, surrounded by fireworks, the daughter of the late Biagio and Anna Marie Dalto Vericella. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death, she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Colella, two brothers and their spouses, Sebastian (Antonetta) Vericella and Arsonio (Mary) Vericella and six sisters and their spouses: Antoinetta (Sebastiano) Corio, Agnes (Nick) Somma, Hazel (Frank) Rully, Rose (Vito) Fera, Mary (Nick) Romano and Tresa (John) Jamrozik, her husband’s three sisters and spouses, Vivian (Eddie) Wyszomierski, Rita (Frank) Mavero and Marilyn (John) Didio. Most of her life, Ann was a housewife and homemaker. Ann was a former member of St. Cecilia RC Church of Rochester, part of Our Lady of the Valley Parish. When she moved to New Castle, she became a member of St. Vitus RC Church, having been born and raised in New Castle. Ann moved to Rochester after marrying her beloved husband, John B. Colella in August 1964. John passed away in 1982. They raised their children in Rochester and following the death of her husband, Ann moved back to New Castle to be closer to her supportive brothers and sisters. She was a member of various Christian Mothers groups, the Eagles, the American Legion and the Red Hat Society. Ann had devoted her life to her husband, children and later her grandchildren. Ann loved large family dinners, bus trips, bingo, shopping and having her hair done. Ann will always be remembered for her generosity and unconditional love. Ann is survived by two children and their spouses, Ann Colella-Murray and her husband Jeff, of New Brighton and John J. Colella and his wife Megan, of North Beaver Township, and four grandchildren whom she adored, Paige and Kyle Murray and Gianna and Johnny Colella. In 2021, when Ann turned ninety years old, she had eighty-nine nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces and great-great-grand nephews and great-great-grand nieces spanning over eleven different states who attended her birthday party. This was a true testament to how loved and respected she was.  Friends will be received Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. in the William Murphy Funeral Home, 349 Adams Street, Rochester. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at 10 A.M. in St. Cecilia RC Church, Rochester Township. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.
