Lawrence “Bud” Lubert, 88, of Raccoon Township, passed away on November 8th, 2024, at Rochester Manor. He was born and raised in Raccoon Township, a son of the late Andrew and Anna Boron Lubert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Joseph, William and Henry Fiejdasz, Frances Toman, and Helen Short. He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-six years, Barbara, and his sister-in-law, Sandra (Mike) Phipps, as well as Sandra’s children, Melissa Reinhardt (Lynn), Andrew (Gretchen) Phipps, and Jason Phipps.
Lawrence’s life was one of love and commitment, exemplified in his 66-year marriage to Barbara J. Figueiredo Lubert, whom he married on May 31, 1958 in Beaver.
Lawrence’s work ethic and love for automobiles led him to a career as a mechanic at the former Wagner Chrysler Auto Dealership in Rochester. He had a passion for cars, not only working on them but also caring for and polishing them until they shined. He was an avid golfer, finding joy and camaraderie on the greens. His love for the game was matched by the pleasure he took in sitting on his porch. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball.
Bud honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the early 1960s, carrying the values of duty and honor throughout his life.
His life was also touched by the kindness of his beloved neighbors and friends, including Janice Hodnicki, Mark (Rachel) Witterman, and Ruth Lee, who provided care and companionship throughout his final years. Bud’s memory will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Private entombment will take place at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
