Beaver Falls Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

(Beaver Falls, PA) The suspect of a bank robbery in Beaver Falls was taken into custody at 6:15 PM. Tuesday. Chief Johnson of the Beaver Falls Police Department tells Beaver County Radio that the suspect, Derrick Grant of Pittsburgh, was located fleeing from a woodline along 6th Avenue on College Hill. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. No injuries were reported and Chief Johnson said everything went smoothly. Grant is accused of entering the Beaver Valley Federal Credit Union Tuesday with a bat and proceeded to attempt to rob the bank. Johnson did not want to comment on the amount of money Grant took at this time. Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier considered the situation an “attempted robbery”. Sources tell Beaver County Radio that a small amount of money had been taken before the suspect fled.
