Teacher hirings and Coach resignations at New Brighton School Board Meeting

(New Brighton, PA) The New Brighton Area School Board met Monday night for a special voting meeting and committee meeting prior to the start of the new school year. An executive session regarding matters of personnel took place prior to the meetings. The district voted to hire Hali Monac as a secretary for the district. The hiring of 4 teachers; Alyssa Hunsinger, Alexa Kriebel, Connor Perry, and Richard Walton, was also approved.  Steve Campos and Jakob Turley resigned as Varsity Assistant Football Coaches, and will be replaced by Joseph Tabay and Mike Ritteman. The resignations of two instructional assistants were also approved.

During the committee meeting, the board discussed numerous items to be voted on at the next voting session later this month. One item discussed was an activity fund account for the competitive spirit team. The account will track and manage money raised and spent by the team outside of the General Fund budget. Also discussed was a contract with Lexadan Consulting to provide training to the IT department following the departure of Eric Guthrie, at a cost not to exceed $3,000. Multiple items of personnel were also discussed for the 2023-2024 school year.
