(Beaver Falls, Pa.) As a part of the continuing series too meet the candidates running for office Frank Sparks, host of Teleforum, was joined by former Beaver County Sheriff George David who is again running to become Beaver County Sheriff in the 10 o’clock hour.
David talked about him growing up in Aliquippa and graduating from Aliquippa High School. David talked about working in the Mill after graduation and then being interested in becoming a police officer. He told stories of relatives who were officers and how that influenced him at a young. George talked about his law enforcement career starting in Aliquippa and then being appointed by Gov. Tom Ridge to be the Sheriff of Beaver County in 1996. David was defeated in the 1999 primary by former Sheriff Felix DeLuca. David talked about what he learned in those experiences and that he ran again and was elected in 2007 and 2011. David talked about seeking re-election and being defeated in the primary in May of 2015.
Sparks then asked David after everything that you went through when you were Sheriff why would you want to run again and put yourself through all of that and David responded I have broad shoulders and it’s in my blood. David said “when you are doing something you love it’s not a job”
David is up against fellow Democrat Wayne Kress which is who he lost to in the 2015 primary. The winner of tomorrow’s primary will then face off against current Beaver County Sheriff Tony Guy ,who is running unopposed on the Republican ticket in the general election on November 5, 2019.
