McDONALD’S BEAVER COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREVIEW

Week 8 — October 16, 2026

POND LEHOCKY GAME OF THE WEEK

FREEDOM AT WESTERN BEAVER

This is a big one in the Midwestern Conference.

Western Beaver is one of the hottest teams in the conference right now. The Golden Beavers have won three straight conference games, including last week’s dominating 45-7 victory over Mohawk.

Freedom, meanwhile, is heading in the opposite direction.

The Bulldogs started the season 4-and-0, but they’ve now lost three straight. Last week, Freedom came agonizingly close to snapping that streak before falling to Riverside 28-27.

The big storyline is Freedom running back Kaden Bailey, one of the area’s leading rushers. If the Bulldogs can get Bailey going and control the clock, they have an excellent chance.

But Western Beaver is playing with confidence, and the Golden Beavers are at home.
