Easter Egg Hunt in Aliquippa 4/4/20

Aliquippa  Parks and Recreation’s Annual Easter Egg hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at the park next to Uncommon Grounds. Anyone wishing to donate for the event can drop  their candy or other donations at  the fire station on Kennedy Boulevard.

“Connect 4” in Hopewell and WIN

From April 1 to April 14  Hopewell residents can connect with local businesses  by  playing Easter Egg Connect 4.

Brochures complete with the rules and game card can be obtained at the township office.  Residents who connect 4 eggs in a row have a chance to win a gift basket or fill the entire card to be entered into the GRAND PRIZE DRAWING worth over $500!  

THE GRAND PRIZE INCLUDES: 

1. A Pittsburgh Pirate Gift Certificate that can be redeemed  for the Pirates Flex Package (10 ticket vouchers

2. A family membership to the Carnegie Museums, the Science Center, and the Andy Warhol Museum.

VISION BOWL Saturday, April 25th

Beaver county Association for the Blind will be having their

6th Annual vision Bowl

on Saturday, April 25, 2020 1:00-3:00 PM at Baden Bowl 346 Ohio River Blvd, Baden.

 

Vision Bowl is an event which will benefit programs and services at BCAB.  The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of what it’s like to be blind or visually impaired.  For the second game, sighted participants will be required to wear special glasses that simulate various eye  diaereses.

2020 Citizen’s Police Academy begins March 9th

Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) classes. Classes begin on March 9th and will continue for 10 weeks in the Community Room of the Beaver Borough building on Monday nights from 6-9 PM. These classes are free.

Classes will give an inside look at the Beaver/Industry/Vanport Police operations, while discussing the principles of community policing.

‘A CHANGE IS  GONNA COME” Saturday, February 22

ALIQUIPPA COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE   is presenting ‘A CHANGE IS  GONNA COME” Saturday, February 22, 2020 in the high school cafeteria . The event will honor past black businesses  and current ones, according to Sandra Gill, the CEC chairperson.

Speakers will include  Tyrone Dixon, who will recite Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech, “What makes up a community neighborhood” by Dr. Michael Hauser, teachers will be recognized, old church hymns will be sung, Black Community History will be presented by photographer Larry Stokes.
There will be music, education and more. The  event is from  noon to 3 p.m.  All are welcome.

Bus trip to Rivers Casino on April 4th  

Reservations are now being accepted for the New Brighton Area Recreation Commission bus trip to Rivers Casino on Saturday, April 4.  The cost is $25.00 per person, which includes coach bus transportation to and from the casino and a free play voucher at the casino.

The bus leaves at 3:30 PM from the New Brighton High School parking lot for Rivers Casino and leaves from the casino at 10:00 PM.

Parents of Children with Special Needs, could you use a night out while your children are being cared for by experienced professionals in a fun, safe environment?

Pathway Church is hosting a Respite Night for parents of children with special needs on Friday, February 21 from 6-8 PM.

Leave your kids – both those with and without special needs – at Pathway and enjoy an evening to yourself. Activities for your children will include a bounce house, Wii, a movie, a snack and more.
