The parade is hosted by the Beaver Falls American Legion. The Memorial Day Parade is a solemn occasion to honor those veterans who have passed. Any veteran is welcome to come march in this parade, they do not have to be a member of the American Legion. The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 31st, 2021. It starts at 19th Street and 7th Avenue and will go down 7th Avenue to 10th Street. The parade ends at the park on on 11th Street and 6th Avenue, where there will be a short service. All CDC guidelines are encouraged. If anyone wishes to participate or have any questions, please contact me.

Each year the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation sponsors the colorful Beaver Memorial Day Parade. All active or former military personnel, are invited to march or ride,  joining with the Beaver Area Senior High School JROTC, Marching Band and many other local organizations. A special Memorial Ceremony in Choirs and Marching Band, recitation of the Gettysburg Address by the Senior Class President and a military salute that includes re-enactors, veterans, and a restored Revolutionary War-era cannon that will be fired as part of the military salute. Acomplimentary lucnheon is provided by the Fort McInstosh Foundation, College Avenue, for all military personnel, program participants and their families. Note: Due to Covid-19 protocols, if inclement weather occurs, all activities will be cancelled with the exception of the Fort McIntosh Foundation luncheon which will be provided, rain or shine. (New Brighton, Pa.) The New Brighton Area Recreation Commission and the Beaver County YMCA will again offer free playground and meal programs in select New Brighton area playgrounds. The program will be operated from June 14 through August 6 at the Middle School Playground, Fallston Borough Playground, Hunky Alley Playground, and Oak Hill Playground, between the hours of 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Meal distribution only will also be offered at the Pulaski Township Playground, in Pulaski Homes, Monday through Friday, with hours to be announced at a later time.

 

 

The Beaver County Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association has announced that the New Brighton Farmers’ Market will open for the season on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.  The Market will again be located to the area adjacent to Diamond Milling at 313 Fifth Avenue.  Hours will remain the same, with the Market open from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM every Tuesday through November 16.

As in years past, the Market will feature fruits and vegetables, fresh-cut flowers, and bedding plants sold by local Beaver County growers.

Rabies Clinic on Saturday May 1^st, and I have included all of the details below.

The proceeds from the Rabies Clinic will be put towards our 2022 Puerto Rico Mission Trip, which was originally for 2021, however had to be postponed due to the  COVID pandemic.  We are trying to get the word about the clinic out to our local community as every dog and cat 3 months of age and older needs to be protected.  The clinic will be held outdoors in our pavilion to ensure appropriate social distancing and the Beaver County Treasurer will also be on site for those individuals who need to purchase a dog license.
