Old Economy-Ambridge Seeking Recipes and Stories For 2024 Bicentennial
As part of preparations for the Old Economy-Ambridge 2024 Bicentennial, we seek recipes and a story of why that recipe tells part of your family, church, restaurant, social club, community, or heritage for The Ambridge Bicentennial (1824-2024) Cookbook. Please share your favorite recipe and story. Individuals submit your recipe and story at no cost. Email ambridgebicentennial@gmail.com for more information. Deadline is April 1. This is a great way to memorialize our food history, memories and traditions. We hope to have cookbooks ready to publish in the late summer.

Saturday, March 26 at 11 a.m. the annual bake off will be held at the township building. Sweet breads at 11 a.m. for judging, at noon the cookie category will be judged, Cupcakes/cakes including cheesecakes will be judged at noon. Junior bakers under age 16 are bringing their specialty baked goods from any category
Aliquippa Police K-9 Assoc.’s Officer Seng’s Van Modification Funraiser
Officer Jason Seng is a 13-year veteran with the Ambridge Police Department. Jason’s son, Collin, was born with a very rare condition causing him to be non-verbal and wheelchair dependent. The family is hoping to be able to modify their family van to be handicap accessible. The goal is $30,000. With the help of Oxgoad Arms and First Responders from all over, past and present we hope to achieve that goal and more.

Our Lady of The Valley Parish Bingo Cancellation
(New Brighton, Pa.) Our Lady of the Valley is announcing that it will be canceling Bingo for the next three weeks at the Holy Family Parish in New Brighton. The organization said in a release that “Due to concerns about the rising COVID Cases, and orders from the Pittsburgh Diocese to temporarily suspend all other non worship church activities.” Bingo is tentatively scheduled to reopen Wednesday evening February 2, 2022. Beaver Valley Choral Society is excited to return to in-person concerts this Christmas season!
The Principal Choir, Orchestra, and Treble Youth Chorale unite to offer a musical message of hope, peace, and joy that comes with the birth of the Christ. This will be a concert you don’t want to miss, featuring the music of Joseph Martin, Dan Forrest, Craig Courtney, Drummond Wolff, and Ruth Elaine Schraum,
The concert, “Unto Us a Child is Born,” is presented during Advent at these locations:

Admission is free, but donations are accepted. Sharon Burchill, BVCS Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, conducts the 71-voice adult Principal Choir and Orchestra. Director Deborah Silverstein leads the ten children who are members of the Treble Youth Chorale.
