2ND Annual Quip nation Golf Outing taking place in July

(Aliquippa, PA) The event is a benefit being held for the Aliquippa High School Football program at Shadow Lakes Country Club on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Sponsors and golfers are needed and to sign up or for any questions please call Karima (Darla) Howard at (412)-417-3676. All donations for the event are tax deductible.

Head Coach Mike Warfield reported that “as football coach it has been and will continue to be my absolute commitment to assure that all funds raised, including this golf outing, will  be TOTALLY utilized to support the overall needs of the football program and the continuous support of the student- both on and off the field athletes”.

The Swingin’ BopCats Big Band plays swing music spanning the fabulous Big Band era to the present day –featuring hits by the dance bands of Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and Brian Setzer. Harry Ralston is music director. Featured vocalists are Diane Brosius and Joe Baden.
The BopCats are supporting the next generation of musicians, by donating a portion of the band’s annual proceeds to local high school music scholarships, for serious students who are pursuing careers in music.

BopCats Big Band Performs May 27 at Townsend Park in New Brighton

(New Brighton, PA) Grab your favorite lawn chair or that comfortable blanket and head for New Brighton!  

The Swingin’ BopCats Big Band is coming to town on Saturday,  May 27 at 6pm in Townsend Park, in the 600 block of Third  Avenue, across from the New Brighton municipal building.  

The Townsend Park concert is sponsored by the Beaver County Commissioners’ community matching grant through Beaver County Tourism and the New Brighton Business District Authority,  coordinated by the Beaver Valley Musicians Union, Local 82-545. 

This free Townsend Park outdoor performance officially kicks off the “2023 Summer Concerts in the Park” series planned for Beaver  County.

BCTA Announces Reimagined FREE Fast Forward Summer Pass

(Rochester Township, PA) Recently, the Beaver County Transit Authority Board of Directors approved a motion to redesign the Summer Youth Pass to include anyone from the age of 6-21 and free fares for those who apply. The program will now be referred to as the Fast Forward Summer Pass.

Through this, BCTA will be able to provide reliable, safe, and free public transportation to hundreds of children in the county.

Applications are available both in person at the Rochester Transportation Center and online at bcta.com. In order to receive the pass, the applicant must provide proof of age. Acceptable documents include birth certificate, school ID (if age or date of birth is present), passport, alien registration card, state issued ID, or a driver’s license. If applying in person, the applicant will receive their pass the day of. For online applications, the pass be available to be picked up at the Rochester Transportation Center.

 

New Brighton Farmers’ Market Opens for Season, Tuesday, May 2, 2023

The Beaver County Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association has announced that the New Brighton Farmers’ Market will open for the season tomorrow,Tuesday, May 2, 2023.  The open air Market will again be located to the area adjacent to Diamond Milling at 313 Fifth Avenue.  The Market will be open from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM every Tuesday through November 7.

The Market will feature freshly picked vegetables and fruits and also plants for your home garden or landscaping needs. Everything is grown and sold by local Beaver County growers who appreciate your support to buy local.
