“The Hunchback Of Notre Dame” To Close Out 2017 Season At Lincoln Park

The Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center is presenting the Stephen Schwartz & Alan Menken musical “The Hunchback Of Notre Dame” for two weekends this month; June 16-18 and the following weekend, June 23-25.

Justin Fortunato, the artistic director at LPPAC, joined Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County to discuss this upcoming performance at the school, which will close out the 2016-17 main series.

Quest For The Cup 2017: Beaver County Radio’s Penguins Pep Rally

The Pittsburgh Penguins are up 2 games to 0 on the Nashville Predators, and Beaver County Radio cheered them on with a pep rally at the Beaver County Courthouse on Friday afternoon. The SDS line (Sparks, Drzik, Septak) joined Bob Barrickman, Caleb Pasquale, Mark Peterson, and many fellow Penguin fans in a time of celebration, prediction, and some good food.

21st Berkshire Hathaway Make-A-Wish Yard Sale (June 2, 2017)

Berkshire Hathaway Realtor Services in Beaver teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for its 21st annual open yard sale right on their campus on Corporation Street. Matt Drzik and Ed Hermick showed up with the prize wheel and tunes, and during Teleforum spoke to Berkshire Hathaway members Debbie Sample and Bob Garvin, as well as several Beaver County Radio colleagues that were around and looking for good deals, for an amazing cause.

Here’s some of the action from our time out at Berkshire Hathaway:

WPIAL AA Baseball Championship: California 3, Freedom 1 (F/10)

The Freedom Bulldogs and California Trojans were locked in a pitchers’ duel through 9 innings (7 + 2 extra in high school baseball), but in the top of the 10th the Trojan bats finally arose to score two runs. Freedom could not answer in the bottom half of the third extra frame, and California wins the WPIAL AA Baseball Championship.

The Bulldogs will now enter the PIAA Playoffs as the #2 seed out of the WPIAL, and they will play the District 6 Championship in Round One.

Generations Marketplace: The New Flea Market In Beaver County

The Beaver County Radio Prize Van and Personality Prize Wheel appeared at the Big Knob Grange for the Generations Marketplace. Generations, founded by Paula Johnston of Generations Photography & Special Gift Shoppe in Beaver, is a public market featuring local distributors and consultants, that is open from 7 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays at Big Knob.

ALXN Basketball League Holds Inaugural Games In New Brighton

A.B.A. Basketball Executives Joe Kirchner, Sean Keaton and Scott Alaksin

The ALXN Basketball Association (ABA) held its inaugural tripleheader of games at the some of competed in 3 games in the league formed by Scott Alaksin. Beaver County Radio brought the action live with Bob Barrickman and Tom Hays on the call.

Linda Ogden Talks About Community Outreach Project PROJECT3MP

PROJECT3MP is a project that reaches out to victims of human trafficking and addiction, and to “mobilize a shift in the anti-trafficking paradigm”. Linda Ogden (shown here with husband Dave), executive director and founder of PROJECT3MP, spoke to Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County about what inspired her to create this organization and what this project sets out to do. She also discussed of the upcoming gathering for the public set for May 27, to be held at the Little Red Meeting House on 8th Avenue in Beaver Falls, beginning at 9 AM. This event will feature training, testimonials, and open discussions on the subject of victimization in the addiction and trafficking community.

Dogs on the Run on Teleforum Tomorrow Friday May 19, 2017

Tune into Teleforum with Frank Sparks tomorrow morning on 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Frank will have open mic talk till 11:30 when Dogs on the Run in East Palestine Ohio will be bringing in some of their great hot dogs for Frank and the staff of Beaver County Radio to taste live on the air. Frank will also be streaming the segment via his personal Facebook page on Facebook Live.

Pirates Ticket Winner Announced!!!!

Paul Buday was the winner of a four pack of tickets to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Nationals game for Wednesday night May 17,2017. Beaver County Radio asked trivia questions on air to register listeners throughout last week and anyone who spun the Personality Prize Wheel at Senior Day at the mall and landed on the Pirates Logo was also registered to win.  Tune into WBVP and WMBA for your chance to win tickets all season long. 19th Salvation Army Spring Gala Set For June 2nd

Beaver County Salvation Army officer Richard Lyle stopped by A.M. Beaver County to discuss this year’s Spring Gala held by the organization. This year’s event will be held at Seven Oaks Country Club, and will have an “Italian Holiday” theme to the fundraiser.

Matt and Richard also spoke about the ways to help volunteer with the Salvation Army, as well as Mr. Lyle’s contribution to the organization as an officer for 45 years. If you missed this informative interview, click below to hear the interview in full!
